Assistive Listening Devices and Aural Rehabilitation
Assistive listening devices (ALDs) help people to hear, or to be alerted through environmental signals, with or without hearing aids, in day-to-day situations. Examples of ALDs include amplified telephones, cell phone accessories, television listening systems, alarm clocks, telephone and doorbell ring signalers, flashing smoke alarms, and personal listening systems.  Contra Costa Hearing Aid Center provides information on these devices including how they can be obtained, and a demonstration display of a number of these products so that our patients can learn for themselves which devices are most beneficial. 

Contra Costa Hearing Aid Center also provides access to aural rehabilitative programs that can significantly improve speech understanding in noisy and other difficult listening environments including the LACE (Listening and Communication Enhancement Software) personal training program.  Whether used during the adjustment to new hearing aids or by anyone seeking to build listening confidence in difficult hearing situations, LACE can help you train to be a better listener. 

Custom Swim Molds, Noise Protectors, and Ear Molds for Telephone Head Sets
We can help you protect your hearing from deterioration through education about what affects your hearing, as well as the proper use and care of hearing protection devices.  Protecting your hearing can make a big difference.  Contra Costa Hearing Aid Center offers custom-made ear molds for swimmers and outdoor enthusiasts, and ear molds for use with telephone headsets in a variety of styles and colors. We also offer custom-made and generic hearing protectors and musician’s plugs that provide protection while maintaining the fidelity of the music.
